Never Enough

I'm going to tell you, I played golf.

I didn't tell you this before we went on the record button, but I played golf twice this weekend.

Really? Yeah.

I played on, it didn't rain yesterday in Bay City on Sunday, the 29th, no, the 30th, but it rained on the other side of the river where the golf course was.

Rex, you probably remember that one of my favorite bands of 2025 was Turnstile.

How could I forget?

With their record, Never Enough.

I saw Turnstile at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, a great venue, in November.

Turnstile just dropped a reimagined version of Never Enough with a ton of crazy collaborators.

There's 22 tracks on the album.

I listened to them all and I have some thoughts that I want to share.

Turnstile's 22-track reimagining of Never Enough with some really crazy collaborators when they released the list of artists that were on this album i was so intrigued because some of these i never would have expected to see listed on the same album altogether i mean we're talking slater elton john hayley williams and so many more the list goes on and the list of collaborators to me off the bat without even listening to this album is already what makes this project so interesting because it's not just one sound you have electronic artists jazz metal pop, everything in between, all taking these turnstile songs from Never Enough and turning them into something completely new.

I listened to all 22 tracks.

I don't know, maybe 34.

On the other hand, he has very few listeners, but he has a great album with the title Electroacoustic.

Next, Proto Girl Power Band English Maltolli Mixtche, they are already good, or were already good, and this is their version of the sound of Velvet Underground.

Before that, we had Underscores with their track Shoot to Kill, Kill Your Darlings off of their album Wall Socket.

Before that, we had Turnstile and Slater with their version of Birds off of Turnstile's Never Enough, their latest released album, but they actually just released Never Enough versions.

So that features a bunch of different artists, spans a bunch of different genres, and it's kind of right up the revolutions per minute alley if you are a fan of the show.

And then we started the set off with Telehealth.

First of all, everyone was going all the rage for this, uh, a- across last weekend when we were hanging out together.

Um, the news dropping that Turnstile are going to be releasing a, uh, kind of a reimagined, reworked version of Never Enough featuring a very large amount of guests.

Turnstile, right? We're very used to at this point seeing a Turnstile tour poster drop and it having, like, everyone from the most, uh, you know, kind of dingy underground things that you could feasibly put on with Turnstile through to, like, bands and artists who we would otherwise never be talking about on this show.

And it pretty much is like one of those tour posters put into record form.

We d- we may never know if that comes true or not, but in my head I'm hoping that that is what's happening.

I h- I'm sure Elton John will have give that the record at least one play.

He li- like, he talked about how much he liked Never Enough as a record-

... who had, uh, huge success with Never Enough, um, which came out, like, June of last year.

So this is coming out this Friday, um, and they've done sort of a, a, a reimagined version of the album.

Yeah.

Yeah, it's lining up to be something quite tasty, Sam.

Speaking of quite tasty, Sam, Turnstile, Never Enough, uh, was a huge record last year.
