I didn't tell you this before we went on the record button, but I played golf twice this weekend.
C

Really? Yeah.
C

I played on, it didn't rain yesterday in Bay City on Sunday, the 29th, no, the 30th, but it rained on the other side of the river where the golf course was.

Rex, you probably remember that one of my favorite bands of 2025 was Turnstile.

I saw Turnstile at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, a great venue, in November.

I listened to them all and I have some thoughts that I want to share.

My name is Fiona.

I am your host and girly girl guide to the world of punk, rock, and everything in between.
F

F

Turnstile's 22-track reimagining of Never Enough with some really crazy collaborators when they released the list of artists that were on this album i was so intrigued because some of these i never would have expected to see listed on the same album altogether i mean we're talking slater elton john hayley williams and so many more the list goes on and the list of collaborators to me off the bat without even listening to this album is already what makes this project so interesting because it's not just one sound you have electronic artists jazz metal pop, everything in between, all taking these turnstile songs from Never Enough and turning them into something completely new.
F

I listened to all 22 tracks.

On the other hand, he has very few listeners, but he has a great album with the title Electroacoustic.

Next, Proto Girl Power Band English Maltolli Mixtche, they are already good, or were already good, and this is their version of the sound of Velvet Underground.
Revolutions Per Minute - Episode August 31, 2026
R
26:00RaynaHOST
Before that, we had Underscores with their track Shoot to Kill, Kill Your Darlings off of their album Wall Socket.
R
26:07RaynaHOST
Before that, we had Turnstile and Slater with their version of Birds off of Turnstile's Never Enough, their latest released album, but they actually just released Never Enough versions.
R
26:21RaynaHOST
So that features a bunch of different artists, spans a bunch of different genres, and it's kind of right up the revolutions per minute alley if you are a fan of the show.
R
26:30RaynaHOST
And then we started the set off with Telehealth.

First of all, everyone was going all the rage for this, uh, a- across last weekend when we were hanging out together.
P
7:49Perran HelyesHOST
Um, the news dropping that Turnstile are going to be releasing a, uh, kind of a reimagined, reworked version of Never Enough featuring a very large amount of guests.
P
8:01Perran HelyesHOST
Turnstile, right? We're very used to at this point seeing a Turnstile tour poster drop and it having, like, everyone from the most, uh, you know, kind of dingy underground things that you could feasibly put on with Turnstile through to, like, bands and artists who we would otherwise never be talking about on this show.
P
8:17Perran HelyesHOST
And it pretty much is like one of those tour posters put into record form.
P
9:01Perran HelyesHOST
We d- we may never know if that comes true or not, but in my head I'm hoping that that is what's happening.
S
9:07Sam DignamHOST
I h- I'm sure Elton John will have give that the record at least one play.
S
9:09Sam DignamHOST
He li- like, he talked about how much he liked Never Enough as a record-
P
9:12Perran HelyesHOST
Yeah
Hear Elton John Give a Pop Sheen to Turnstile’s ‘Seein’ Stars’
S
1:56speaker_2HOST
He's always reinvented himself, so maybe it's just part of his evolution.
S
2:01speaker_1HOST
True, and speaking of evolution, this new version comes from Turnstile's album Never Enough, which also features tons of guest artists.
S
2:09speaker_2HOST
Like who? I feel like that could spark some interesting collaborations too.
S
2:14speaker_1HOST
There are artists like Hayley Williams, Sleigh Bells, and even Panda Bear.
Nepo Babies, Madonna's VMA Domination & Charli XCX Saves Nick

N
47:46Nick GrimshawHOST
... who had, uh, huge success with Never Enough, um, which came out, like, June of last year.
N
47:52Nick GrimshawHOST
So this is coming out this Friday, um, and they've done sort of a, a, a reimagined version of the album.
A
47:59Annie MacmanusHOST
Yeah.
Watch Turnstile play cover of The Stone Roses’ ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ at a gig for the first time as they headline The Piece Hall in Halifax
S
1:47speaker_3HOST
It's fascinating how they can carry such emotional weight in a set.
S
1:51speaker_3HOST
What's your take on their new album, Never Enough?
S
1:55speaker_2HOST
I find it intriguing that it's gotten such high praise.
S
1:58speaker_2HOST
I mean, calling it bright and eccentric is quite a compliment.
S
2:54speaker_3HOST
I think so, and it's exciting to witness artists like Turnstile navigate these changes.
S
3:00speaker_3HOST
It's a modern music landscape.
S
3:02speaker_2HOST
True, and I'm curious about the surprise reimagined version of Never Enough with artists like Elton John.
S
3:09speaker_3HOST
That's such a wild mix.
Wait for the Good Stuff
M
18:57MaxwellHOST
Yeah, it's lining up to be something quite tasty, Sam.
M
19:00MaxwellHOST
Speaking of quite tasty, Sam, Turnstile, Never Enough, uh, was a huge record last year.
M
19:05MaxwellHOST
Um-
S
19:05SamHOST

M
19:20MaxwellHOST

S
19:20SamHOST

M
19:22MaxwellHOST
[laughs] But, uh, Turnstile are back with Never Enough, doing a versions release, which I'm quite stoked with, Buzz.
