Hi, Rudy.

We have our redevelopment project in downtown North Las Vegas that will be the home to a lot of small businesses.

Nevada State University campus is coming to downtown North Las Vegas right across the street from City Hall.

That will bring education opportunities to our community.

So North Las Vegas has a diverse economy and we're growing it in that manner.

Well, it started a long time ago.

I graduated from Nevada State College outside of Las Vegas with the intent of becoming a kindergarten teacher and staying in the classroom forever.

But just as opportunities come up, I decided to continue to advance and become a reading specialist.

And that opened up more opportunities where I was able to serve outside of the kindergarten classroom and serve with more like the school faculty and being able to mentor them, which then led me to wanting to grow into reading and talking to others about reading and teaching others.
