But that's kind of where this, I mean, it came to me about a year ago that we needed to do this.

And primarily for the speaker, but also for some key Senate races, you know, that are mixed in there, some key governors races like on Nevada Day.

I know we pray for the state of Nevada, the Republican members of Congress, the Republican candidates for Congress and the governor there.

So, you know, it's it's a very you know, it really kind of came together as a as a unique Louisiana gumbo.

So also there's an element here living in Nevada where we have something called Nevada Day, which celebrates the day that Nevada became a state.

I feel like we're the only state who does this.

Oh, I'd know all about a New York Day if we gave a shit.

Oh.

Hmm.

So the thing is, what they do now is they have Nevada Day happen on the last Saturday of October.

If that happens to fall on Halloween like it does this year, then so be it.

So the Golden Knights should work.

How come there hasn't been a UNLV hockey night there where they play a game? Maybe, for instance, Nevada Day.

You play the game, Golden Knights play.

After the game, it's Rebel Hockey.

Evil or not, whatever might still lurk in these hallways may help to keep the hopes of Goldfield alive.

This weekend, tours of the hotel will be conducted, along with a Halloween party and Nevada Day festivities.

Locals hope it might capture the attention of someone who might want to renovate and reopen the hotel, ghosts or not.

In the meanwhile, with the contract we have, we're going to try and use the building and generate some interest and make the county a little bit of money.

There's always something for everyone in there.

And then October 30th will be our last home game of the month, and that's going to be Nevada Day.

So that's Friday, October 30th, and that's always an afternoon, right? It's a 3 p.m.

game at T-Mobile Arena against the Devils.

You know, Nevada Day coming up, it's like, put me in a girl hat.

When we did our expansion, it's like, hey, Sarah.

Oh, yeah.

What are some of the fun things? And her and I, this is where a really good social media strategy is so important because one, you have a plan with your team.

So doctors, I will say, if you're not going in and kind of planning things, hey, let's get these ideas going with the team because I think the hardest part is what are we doing today, team, right? But I meet with Kelly and I say, all right, you know, October is coming up.

Is there anything fun we want to celebrate with the team? She let me know it's Nevada Day, right? That's something I wouldn't necessarily know.

And so what's really cool is that not only do we pull in community pieces, team pieces, but we're pulling in also the services that Kelly wants to highlight.
