Neumann U 47

Good utility mic.

They're a large diaphragm, and sort of like an FET-47 is what they're modeling on that, or shooting for.

But they're a great sounding microphone.

Yeah, I have one of those too that I'm happy with, and I got it in big part because I heard that J.D. liked it.

Nothing is historically documented as far as their amps here.

Mics were likely EMI's usual Neumann U47, U48s.

They used a lot for vocals, and AKG STC for instruments, but again, nothing is nailed down specifically for this session.

Okay, so now we need to get inside the console.

But you kinda had to commit to that and make sure that's what you wanted.

But, okay, so the microphone choices on this thing is they had a standard period chain for Studio 2 to the Red console at the time for the preamp and EQ and, and then going through the Studer J37.

But I couldn't find the exact microphones on this, but they were likely Neumann U47s, U48s.

That's what they were using in EMI at the time.
