Yeah, I think that makes sense.

Heather how dare you say exactly what I was going to say because I came away from this being very disappointed and I've actually seen a couple of Cindy Lumet's movies I've seen Network a long time ago one of my favorites

yeah it's due

for a rewatch for sure and I saw 12 Angry Men which is a fantastic directorial debut I mean that is just incredible yeah Yeah, it's just a terrific movie involving a lot of great performances.

As you said, it does have a stamp of approval on it with not just a lot of these character actors talking within these rooms, having long-winded dialogue conversations that feel, at times you could see it staged as a play.

but also still have his grimy, grungy feel to the world.

Because Network kind of had some of that too, where it had the darkness to the world that the characters were in.

1976, it could be All the President's Men.

It could be Network.

It could be Taxi Driver.

1977, you could go with Star Wars.

We'll find out.

They're both covering very similar things in terms of journalist responsibility, the media, Americans' relationship to the media, all that kind of stuff.

And I was like, well, hey, I got two journalism majors here.

And so here you are.

well there's two conversations in both movies there's one Jake Gyllenhaal says Lou Bloom I'm gonna try to do Lou Bloom as much as I can he says you know 5% of your news coverage is like politics and finance and whatever the other 95% is robberies and murders and like sensational things and The exact same conversation is had in Network.

All right.

So my, my next pick is my obvious one, which is Network.

So Network is classic 1976 Sidney Lumet film, written this, one of the greatest screenplays ever by Paddy Chayefsky.

This has Ned Beatty delivering one of the greatest monologues in, like, movie history, all about how the nations of the world are actually corporations.

Some key players in the film did, however, go on to achieve immense award recognitions for their works.

Peter Finch, who won a posthumous Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the 1976 film Network.

Peter O'Toole eventually earned eight Academy Award nominations over his legendary career.

Director Robert Stevenson later received a Best Director Academy Award nomination for the 1964 Mary Poppins.

And I'm not going to take it anymore.
