Netherworlds

Interesting dude, serious talent.

This guy pumps out some really thick, meaty, heavily involved albums.

The brand new That Catafalque album arrives on November the 20th.

So stick around for information involving that.

And then other big news during the week before that, Floor Jansen and Nightwish parting ways.

After 14 years, Floor Jansen is going to continue with her solo career.

She has a new album coming out in January, but I thought I'd go to the opening cut from the first of the Nightwish albums that she did, Endless Forms, Most Beautiful.

I plead you, shudder before the beautiful.

Generation Steel, Steel Machine.

Insomnium, Netherworlds.

Joe Stump, Lord of the Strings.

That's-

Right, that is Insomnium, released this weekend.

Their new album, Netherworlds.

And that track I played you was called The Banished.

And before that was Annihilator with their take on the Judas Priest classic Hell Bent for Leather.

So nice.

So you guys, uh, are about to release your 10th studio album, which is called Netherworlds, an intriguing, intriguing title.

[laughs]

Yeah.

I'm, I'm sure people are looking forward.

I had the chance to, to already listen to it and, and I must admit, you, you guys did it again.

I mean, after, uh, 10 studio albums, uh, you know, you- you're the masters of what I like to call, like, the, the mellow, mellow death, you know? [laughs]

Yeah.

Today we welcome Niilo Sevänen from Insomnium to the podcast.

The new Insomnium record, Netherworlds, is out this Friday on Century Media Records.

Niilo talks about the bands that were influences on Insomnium, creating music that is both dark and joyful, the themes on Netherworlds, touring with their musical heroes, and more.

I think Netherworlds is an incredible record and a great kind of next step for Insomnium after kind of how dark their previous record was.

So make sure you check out this record on Friday.

Thanks so much for listening to this episode of As The Story Grows.

If you're brand new to the podcast, welcome.

Yeah.

They stuck with it.

They've got their 12th album dropping this Friday, October 9th.

It's called Guillotine.

It was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Tue Madsen.

You know what I'm trying to say.

It's still good.

So congrats to Hate Sphere for still rocking it 12 albums in.

And on this episode of the podcast, we'll be talking to another European band that's in the double-digit albums.
