Net-winged beetles

That is an armoured ladybird larvae.

And so, I mean, what is it? Well, it is a beetle in the family Lysidae.

So if there's any entomologists out there who I'm sure fear no weevils, I'm sure you'll know that Lysidae is commonly called the net-winged beetles.

But it's actually just the females of Plateridrylus.

Plateridrylus is a whole genus of these things, which have this weird, like, armoured exoskeleton morphology.
