And my daughters were so proud.

And so we got on the ferry, and we played Uno while we ate, and NERTS and SCUMM and all the games we'd been playing for months.

And we enjoyed our peanut butter and jam sandwiches.

And that night, we all cozied up under our very warm, tall blankets.

The ones that we did a lot of were actually card games.

Spades, Nertz, our family called it Squeal.

I know Dutch Blitz is like a version of that.

But it's basically competitive solitaire where all the aces, as you get aces, you put them out in the middle and you're trying to get through your stack of cards before everyone else with just plain decks of cards.
