Nero Decree

Hitler was farting and losing his marbles under his bunker in Berlin.

And he issued this thing called the Nero Decree, which said to destroy all of Germany's infrastructure, ostensibly to keep it out of the hands of the Soviets, but also because he felt like Germans didn't deserve it anymore.

They lost the war because they were weak.

And so he was just going to take them all out as one of his final actions.

Adolf Hitler was such a jerk.

And Eiger heard about the Nero Decree.

And he was like, got it.

I'm going to go ahead and blow up all this art inside my salt mine that's next to my concentration camp.

And at the end, Hitler, a megalomaniac, wished to punish the German people themselves for the defeat.

They had failed their Fuhrer, and the Fuhrer wanted them destroyed, issued the Nero Decree that every bridge, every electricity, every road, everything was to be destroyed.

because the people failed him.

And you know that Donald Trump has that in him.

After battles at Stalingrad and Kursk, rumors of defeat reached factory floors.

On the 19th of March 1945, Hitler issued the Nero Decree to destroy all useful assets before retreat.

In the following few weeks, German columns of soldiers, Volkssturm militia, and refugee families clogged Bohemian roads, fleeing the Red Army.

Krebs stayed in Ausich until the Reich structure collapsed.

Like in these last months, we see him mobilize the Volkssturm, which basically said that any civilian strong enough to hold up a pitchfork now had to go out and use that pitchfork to fight the Soviet tanks.

And then he also issued this thing called the Nero Decree that everyone ignored, thank God, because it called for the destruction of Germany's own infrastructure.

So then things got pretty bad pretty quickly.

On April 16th, 1945, a million Soviets lined up outside Berlin and they were like, you know what? That city looks awesome.

And So anyhow, he writes, he says, I don't think people are fully aware of just how bad it can get here in America.

And his concern, Trump issued this, when Trump, excuse me, Hitler, when he learned that the war was lost, he issued what was called the Nero Decree.

Now, his military refused to execute it, but he ordered the Luftwaffe, the German Air Force, to bomb all the bridges in Germany.

The explicit rationale that he gave was that we're losing the war.
