Neoconservative has such a bad association with foreign policy issues, but the actual neoconservatives, and Jonathan Vrinitsky has written beautifully about this, as did Matthew Continetti, was really about reforming domestic policy s- away from the Great Society domestic policy into a more conservative version of that.

And I think Irving Kristol was actually pretty explicit in saying that as a neoconservative, he wasn't hostile to the idea of a welfare state.

He was critical of the Great Society version of the welfare state, but he approved of ref- of a welfare state that, uh, did so with a minimum of bureaucratic intrusion in the individual's affairs, and he specifically mentioned in that that some kind of family assistance might be okay.

They branded it Chase the Vote, as if the vote is somehow running away from them.

Students for Trump continued posting mostly pro-Trump, pro-MAGA, pro-Neo-Con content.

After the supposed split, there didn't seem to be any bad blood.

After Charlie Kirk died, Ryan Fournier went to TPSA headquarters and posted a frankly beautiful, warm, and sincere tribute to Charlie Kirk.

This is now normal, and the regime says nothing about it.

And if you look at government as some kind of progressive instrumentality and loo- and looking as, as either a necessary evil or as a means by which, you know, the posterity and historical mission of a people is preserved, you kind of view this as the zenith of government.

So the Bush faction, if you wanna call it that, contra the, the Neocon or proto Neocon faction, this was their vision, okay? In contrast, the guys who had staffed Team B and who had now become these kind of uber hawks insinuated into various roles, they viewed the Soviet Union as quite literally evil.

And like that was not hyperbole.

That, that's the way they looked at it.

But he will still frame himself as this new type of conservative, anti-war, anti-Neocon.

although he's been a part of this administration, one that started more wars than any other.
