Neo-Hasidism

I would claim that that same river didn't stop at Okopi.

And I would claim, perhaps audaciously, but not without precedent, that that river continued to flow beyond Hasidism to Neo-Hasidism.

Now, we all know that from the 1960s, we have what people call nearer Hasidism.

One day we're going to study this the same way as we study Jewish Sufism in Egypt.

I think what strikes me a lot these days is this idea of embodied spirituality.

What does that mean? What does it mean to be in my body and be connected spiritually? And what does that feel like? And what does it not feel like? And I feel like a lot of my journey through many different types of communities, whether it was Orthodox or the more neo-Hasidic or hanging out in conservative crowds and sort of non-evangelical, what do they call it? Just always coming back to checking to myself, how do I feel in this place? How does my body feel? Do I feel like I can breathe? Do I feel expansive? Do I feel relaxed? Or do I feel fear and judgment? Like looking back and seeing a lot of places in history where I've been, there was a lot of fear and judgment and anxiety.

And I used to think it was just me.

And then like I realized maybe it's everyone just orienting to the same frequency or the same space.

And I thought that was fascinating because I think that the like, I feel like Israel starts these trends and then they catch on in America.

But in America, they're attributed to this whole neo-Hasidic trend, which is sort of happening in parallel to Israeli trends.

So I just thought...

And he was not in the Dati Lumi world, so he very much made no connection to this Dati Lumi phenomenon that I'm talking about.

So you shouldn't be scared of that, but you should be aware of that and be motivated by that.

Don't be all fluffy, weird, spiritual, neo-Hasidic weirdos.
