Nellie Ball

It was the guy who let them run, Coach Don Nelson.

The free-flowing, fast-paced, small-ball style of play he prototyped eventually became known as Nelly Ball.

He took it to Dallas, where in a single night, he traded for a rookie from Germany and an unproven third-year player from Canada to run with Michael Finley as a big three worthy of its own kid's book.

Well, welcome everybody.

You're playing people in position as long as Draymond can hold the fort at the five.

Well, I do think it was fitting that we saw the Warriors running a lot of small ball today on a day that the organization was honoring the Hall of Famer Don Nelson, who really pioneered the small ball during or Nelly Ball, right? Isn't that what they called it? Nelly Ball during that era.

So, you know, he was a big fan of it.

I am not always a big fan of it.
