Neil Mellor

Reaction is on its way from inside the Reds camp, as well as from Ray Houghton, who was on commentary duty at Anfield today.

Phil Thompson and Neil Mellor are with me.

Uh, Mells, I think it's fair to say Liverpool will go home feeling they did not deserve that today, and that, that will hurt for quite a while.

No, uh, I mean, the score line, if you look at it, it flatters Man City.

You know, that, that's what, where that team clicks into.

The Neil Mellor game.

Neil Mellor.

The Neil Mellor winner.

That, that team had cl- it, it looked good at, in, in patches.

Uh, flattered to deceive in others, and not been very good away.

But if Van Dijk is not there... that Como this is a friendly that Como forwards is a big big danger so Van Dijk has to be on his toes there squeezing the pitch so there's a big emphasis on the centre half filling the spaces and stuff but it's the kind of thing that once it's once it's installed fully it works great and it looks great

We also spoke to Neil Mellor at our charity Paddle Day, where we raised £8,000 for Woodlands Hospice.

It was a joint collaboration between Redmen Xylo and Woodlands Hospice themselves.

Dan Clubbe did an incredible job, and he played really well on the day with me as well.

So, yeah, we spoke to Neil Mellor, or Paul did, I should say, about Lewis Kumas and Alexander Isak.

Right, I am here with Neil Mellor.

We're at the Redmen TV Woodlands Hospice Paddle Tournament and Neil has kindly stepped away for a moment of intense paddle action to talk Liverpool with me, which we were doing anyway, but we thought we'd do it on camera for a bit.

Mate, I think the general gist we've had so far is like we both feel quite encouraged by what we've seen so far, but there is definitely loads more still to come.

Right, I am here with Neil Mellor.

We're at the Redmen TV Woodlands Hospice, uh, Padel Tournament, and Neil's kindly, um, stepped away for a moment-

Yeah

Tell us.

Neil Mellor.

No, I thought you might get it.

Joe, it is Robbie Keane.

So that brings us to the next matches going forward.

Neil Mellor, you were saying before we started recording that Neil Mellor on LFCTV mentioned the fact that our next four games are against the top four.

Before going into today, it was Man City, Brentford, Brighton and Arsenal.

Those are the next four league games taking us all the way to the 1st of November.

I played a paddle tournament yesterday for charity and stuff, so I'm looking forward to a chill weekend.

Played against, um, Chris Kirkland and Neil Mellor, and-

Some serious reach there on Kirkland.

Yeah, yeah.

We were 2-0 up, right? 2-0 up.

I think Neil Mellor made it 2-0. gareth ainsworth came on a sub and they got two goals in injury time to make it 2-2 bad memories all off this road you know i'm looking at when paul simpson was manager right and i know i'm babbling here but hey there's not much news it's a bit of north end audio in your ears we can go off on a tangent can't we right went to that 2006 2007 season when simpson was manager right End of March, I think we went to Leeds away on the Friday night, okay? I went to all three of these away games, right? The Friday night we played Leeds away.

If we win that game, we're second, okay? This is the last weekend in March, I think, okay? And we go to Leeds, we go 1-0 up early on.

I feel like maybe Omarod scored.

Oh, and last thing before I ask you if you've got any thoughts on it.

I met Neil Mellor, mate.

former Liverpool striker former Preston striker former Wigan striker Neil Miller and I have a lovely picture of him he scored at my first game which is why it's a big deal he scored in my first game against Newcastle in 2004 I told him so if I'm honest, he looked like he had a big smile and he was very, very nice and looked like I sort of made his, yeah, sort of made that moment for him because obviously when I told him that he scored on my first game and obviously that's why I wanted a picture with him because yes, he's not Liverpool's biggest striker.

Yes, he's not Liverpool's best striker.
