Fast forward to 2023.

Neil Halstead started making what he thought would be a minimal electronic record at home.

Then the rest of Slow Dive got involved, and it slowly turned into Everything is Alive.

Here's the album's opening track, Shanty.

The band basically dissolves.

Neil Halstead, Rachel Goswell, and Ian McCutcheon soon reappear as the very, very different, almost country-leaning band, the Mojave 3.

And around Slow Dive, Nearly the entire Shoegaze movement is kind of coming apart.

My Bloody Valentine have not released a proper follow up to Loveless and are disappearing into this soon to be legendary period of studio paralysis.

I mean, Slowdive's second act turned out to be much bigger than anyone in the band expected, as you'll hear.

Uh, and, and Nick's gonna look back at the band's self-titled comeback, the moment Star Roving proved they could make new music again, and realizing that a younger generation saw them as a current band instead of just a legacy act.

I mean, people would talk to us about it.

Um, before we reformed, people would talk to Neil especially.

You know, continued to, to play live and to write his own music and, you know, he played with Black Hearted Brother and toured solo.
