Why is it important? Why should we be thinking about it when we are at the, I don't wanna say the frontline of healthcare, but sometimes it definitely feels like that.

Well, I mean, I'd say from my personal point of view, I think you are at the [laughs] frontline of healthcare much of the time.

So moral injury are the strong negative, uh, reactions we get when we're exposed to an event which clashes with our moral or ethical code.
N

So being put in a situation where you're asked to do something or you have to do something which doesn't sit with your sense of what's right and wrong.

And actually it's, it's great here be chatting to you, 'cause one of the descriptions I often use to try and describe this when I'm talking about it to audiences is, is an intensive care nurse, you know, who, you know, might deal with one patient very, very well, and if that patient unfortunately dies, at least they know they gave them the best care.
N

But during COVID, as we all know, sometimes that nurse had four patients to deal with, and there were two or three alarms going off, and, you know, what do you do? W- where's the right alarm to go and attend to? And m- and mo- uh, what we call a potentially morally injurious event, which is PMIE, it's a horribly long, complex name, but it's often an event where people say, "It should never have happened.

Is there a good way to recognize it in ourselves or others, and a best way to address it?

No, I think the Gold- I think Golden Knights were the, were the best value play coming into the, into the tournament, um, and I think a lot of people agreed with that.
Neil GreenbergGUEST
Uh, people are shying away from the chalky picks like the Capitals and gravitating more towards value picks like the Golden Knights and the, uh, Toronto Maple Leafs.
Neil GreenbergGUEST
Um, but I think that, you know, in hockey especially, and I just talked about it, it's so flukey.
Neil GreenbergGUEST
It doesn't make a lot of sense to go with chalk in, in the NHL as a general rule, um, because we see some weird stuff.

Is there, is there money down on the Kentucky Derby that you look at and you say, "This is a horse you need to consider"?
