I'm so glad that you've, uh, been able to join us this morning as we dive into, uh, this text that maybe, uh, seems a bit obscure

obscureUh, one of the, often when we get to a, a genealogy like this in scripture, it's easy to kind of just, uh, skip over it, a bunch of names that are super hard to pronounce.

Uh, may be helpful if you're a expecting child and you're looking for, uh, some fresh new options, uh, good place to go.

Uh, it doesn't really maybe feel like it kind of moves the story forward other than just kind of bridging a gap between, uh, a couple of different episodes and, uh, in one sense, that's kind of what Genesis 10 is doing.

Uh, it takes us from, uh, what we've seen in the, the previous weeks, in the previous chapters with, with Noah and the flood, and then his sons, and, a- and coming up next, if you know the trajectory, it's the, the, the famous story of the Tower of Babel.

Uh, but maybe we wonder if there's, there's, there's more to it than that.

Uh, they, back then they didn't have kind of reams and reams of paper that they could just write on endlessly, and so when they wrote something down, it's because it was important.
