I'm kind of curious from, from, from that experience, you know, what have you observed about operational bottlenecks, you know, that face African firms today? Are there any unique things that you've noticed?

Neema YusufGUEST
The first is, um, foreign exchange, and although people think of that primarily as a financial risk, it has a direct operational dimension.

Neema YusufGUEST
So, you know, essentially we have to be prepared to manage currency vol- volatility in multiple markets, and we have to put in place the controls to monitor that exposure.

Neema YusufGUEST
But what, in terms of foreign currency, at Silverback, the way we try and mitigate that is that it, it is really part of our selection criteria.

Neema YusufGUEST
And what I mean by that is, at the selection stage, we look at businesses that at least have 30% of their revenues in hard currency.

Neema YusufGUEST
It doesn't eliminate the risk, but it mitigates it, and it reduces the operational burden at a later stage.
