Ned Goodman

I haven't sold a share, despite the fact I've done very well on that.

I've done business with the Goodman family for my entire adult life.

The originator of Dundee, Ned Goodman, was a mentor of mine in my 20s, and so I'm attracted to all things Goodman, including his son, Jonathan, and now his grandson, who are in Dundee.

I know and love and trust the Goodman family.

And what Dundee Bank Corp is very good at doing is making large capital investments in companies that are making the transition from advanced exploration to production and providing what I would describe as adult supervision, much like the Lundins do with international petroleum.

I was, in effect, a partner of theirs in the grooming of Reunion until its sale of G2.

But he was an extremely successful guy, both at building companies and at promotion.

He was backed by a couple of guys who had been important mentors for me, Ned Goodman and Seymour Shulick of Dundee and Franco Nevada, respectively.

I hadn't realized that the promoter in question was a vicious anti-Semite.

And I was asked by these two mentors of mine who, while they weren't Zionists, were certainly Jewish, to discontinue doing business with this guy as a consequence of his beliefs, which I decided I would do.

And the process by which science translated into capital gains Wonderful human being.

Through him, I met his then employers who were respectively Ned Goodman and Seymour Shulick of Butel Goodman, famous for creating Dundee Bank Corp and Franco Nevada.

Both of those guys invested an awful lot in me for reasons that I'm still at a loss to explain.

Ned, rest in peace.

His son, Jonathan Goodman, is still a very good friend and business associate of mine.

They were extremely important to me.

The late Adolph Lundin, scion of the Lundin family, who are probably the most successful individual resource entrepreneurs in the planet, adolph took me under his wing at the ripe old age of twenty-one now i know what he saw in me legs i worked tirelessly on adolph's behalf i was paid extraordinarily well to do it but he was none the less a real taskmaster and a real mentor.

I think the performance of those early partnerships was part of the thing that sponsored so many other institutional investors in the marketplace.

You know, I was part of a group with Ned Goodman and others who created the monster that came back to compete with us.
