And I have a little bit of Ned Beatty blindness.

I really like him in multiple things.

Obviously, he was in Deliverance by the same director not too long before this.

But I just didn't realize it was him.

So when it said Ned Beatty as Edwards, I went, who? And who? It just is meaningless.

I love it.

The 70s and the 80s, it felt like the studios were the powers that be.

What did Ned Beatty say in Network? The primeval forces, they weren't watching.

And you had all this heavy commercialism coming in as kids were starting to get marketed to in the early 70s.

And as you hear the siren, this is very similar to the show Homicide Life on the Street.

And they said, you know, we need a cellist to come on the set to teach Ned Beatty how to fake play the cello.

And so I said, okay.

They called me to do it.

I subsequently met all the cast and crew and became fast friends with all of them.

These four are kind of the main four in the movie, the friends who go on this wild ride down the river and into the American back country.

So yeah, you mentioned that James Dickey had a role.

A lot of it is almost in the beginning credits or even in front of it, in the assumption of these people going there because they think they know.

I don't know if it's Ned Beatty or Jon Voight who says this.

like they're talking it's just blatant piece of foreshadowing because they're saying like because they're going there because there's there's going to be this work done in this area because they're going to be building a dam and this whole place is going to become this massive lake so they're going to just take their canoes or whatever they have, like the inflatable boats.

Because these people go out in the wilderness and get fucked.

Literally.

Like, Ned Beatty has a very terrible time.
