Neckline

For athletic wear, women were expected to wear either extremely long, flowy, culotte-style pants that essentially looked like a skirt when you were standing still, or you were supposed to wear athletic leggings underneath a skirt.

And obviously, the same standards about Neckline and skirt length applied whether you were wearing athletic wear or bathing suits or your regular everyday clothing.

Even the colors of your clothing could be limited.

You weren't supposed to wear colors that were too bright and eye-catching for the reason we were talking about earlier of drawing attention to yourself.
