It explains that workers need to respect a participant's right to make their own decision but also provide support safely and raise concerns when something affects a participant's safety.

There's also a resource called Working Together Guide for Workers.

So the government has engaged a... a private consultancy firm to help them with this very, very important consultation.

And if I'm really honest, my assessment is that the NDIS Commission is under-resourced and has no prospect of being able to shut the gate on the 300,000 unregistered providers, let alone neglect and abuse that sometimes occurs with registered providers.

I'm not saying that that doesn't happen.

But Here's a chance with this public consultation to let the government know that we need to completely overhaul the way that we register, screen, regulate providers.

And actually I have the numbers, if I can find them quick enough, on my desktop.

Where are they? Yeah, here are the numbers from the NDIS Commission about SIL.

There's 11,631 SIL providers that are providing either SIL, STA, MTA or ILO.

And then out of those 11,000 or 11 and a half thousand, there's 7,000 of them that operate SIL.
