NBA G League Ignite

I don't think this exists anymore.

But I think the NBA G League Ignite was, like, one of the worst experiments of all time.

Yes.

All of them.

To your point, none of those guys have proven to be like winning players.

Correct.

And if at 18 or 19, you're put on the G league ignite and treated like a pseudo pro while all your friends are, essentially in college, which is now like the pros too.

But like, I just think a lot of those guys, I mean, we saw it with Rob Dillingham through different versions of like the Donda Academy.

They're fighting the NCAA for a player that they got his points from Senegal who played in the German League.

The NCAA said he's played professionally because he was in the G League Ignite a couple of years ago.

But I don't know.

There's just so much confusion with that.

Well, the reason you should care is that Babacar Sané is played with Isan Almanza for the G League Ignite in the 23-24 season.

He's also played professionally elsewhere outside of that.

And a couple of things have happened.

Um, but yeah, with, with a lot of reform, I think that they could make some good changes.

They should care more about the G League, but they don't, and I, I, I, I wanna see what happen.

When G League Ignite first was announced and overtime in the league was first announced, I was like, "Ah, let's see what happens." But it was really, really, really bad.

Like, Jonathan Kuminga hasn't recovered really.

He said Almanza should have three years of eligibility based on his birthday.

His case is more complicated, however, because he played professionally in the G League with the Ignite.

He played professionally in the NBL with Perth Wildcats.

He played professionally last year with Real Madrid.

What they're looking into are those contracts, how much money he made, what the baseline salary is in those specific leagues, and whether that goes above what they consider actual and necessary expenses in order to determine whether he's eligible.

Based on what the NCAA says the rules are, Almanza's eligibility is probably going to be difficult to acquire.

Now, Babacar Sané, who is teammates with Isan Almanza at the G League Ignite, he is currently a forward committed to St. John's.

He is pursuing a lawsuit against the NCAA right now because they denied him his eligibility.

I'm like a surrogate father.
