Is that something that, you know, particularly yourself as, you know, as more of an expert in this field, your PhD? Let me know what you what do you think of that argument? You heard that before? Is that?

So, I think there are potentially two aspects, if I understood you quite well.

One of the aspects is that

the structure of a universe, the fundamental foundation

of a universe, seems to have this idea

of order.

Yes.

We know that Allah has created, God has created these things, presumably for us to go there and look at them and study them and understand something about God.

How did that shift change your view of what business really need from their DPO beyond technical compliance?

It's a fascinating question, isn't it? I think it's worth saying that before joining the ICO, I kind of worked for two other regulators.

I worked for Ofsted and the General Medical Council.

So I came into the ICO already with a regulatory background and a particular regulatory mindset, and that is understanding the law and how it applies to specific sets of circumstances invariably after the event, after a set of circumstances has occurred.

And so having that detailed knowledge of data protection law and then acting on behalf of the commissioner, which is a weird thing to say, but it is in essence what you're doing and you're issuing notices out and you're giving the view and you're assessing what's happened and how the law applies.

There's a limitation in terms of context there.

You can only work off what is provided by the complainant, what the controller who's being complained about, is providing in response.

So how do you ensure, as that person, as the go-to for privacy, how do you make sure that you're involved at the very start?
