Naval Undersea Warfare Center

And you know, imagine, you know, Quonset and Rhode Island as, you know, the national sort of defense area and epicenter for, uh, you know, the federal, state, and local.

We have, um, we have such an opportunity with our infrastructure in regards to Quonset Point, Electric Boat, the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, and what's happening down there, and all the federal dollars.

It's the future of defense.

And so you have heard my platform, but I'll kind of sum this up and, and why, uh, I believe that the people of Rhode Island should vote for me.

But- We have an opportunity to kind of bring the future of medicine here to Rhode Island if we're strategic, that will also support, you know, Quonset with the Veterans Village concept that I have, and wraparound services.

So the future is all here, as you know.

With the Naval Undersea Warfare Center and what VATT is doing, these drones of the sea, we're kind of moving off the traditional sort of defense, and we have it here in Rhode Island and, and the Naval War College and the Navy.

In addition, you know, electric bill-- electricity bills are soaring, so we have advanced energy, and I wanna do an advanced energy commission to actually, um, apply for federal dollars to try to support this effort.

We have to, uh, uh, upgrade the grids.

And we can do all of that because of what we're doing with Quonset Point and the $76 billion that's happening, you know, at, uh, Electric Boat, in addition to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center.

We are the future of defense.

We need to, um, advocate to the federal government to upgrade our systems so we can lower electricity costs, so we can be more efficient.

They are creating pioneering technology below and above the surface of the water that is helping to define the defense strategy of the United States and our allies, and is also helping to map the seabed for things like the placement of offshore wind turbines for the purpose of mineral extraction, for the purpose of all kinds of critical things for humanity.

So this is happening in Rhode Island and there is no limit on the growth of our economy in this sector and It's because we're home to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, an often unheralded, remarkable, gigantic research center for the United States Navy, the Naval War College.

URI is second to none in its expertise in ocean fields, and they were well represented in that room.

You started to touch upon it, but it goes way back for Rhode Island.
