Her transition was that quick.

And she was very fortunate to get a job in the Navy OGC Acquisition Integrity Office, and that, in turn, allowed her to, uh, uh, develop expertise first at NAVAIR, then at SPAWAR, and then with Naval Sea Systems Command in acquisition.

Wow.

And so after she had been with Navy OGC in those various positions, uh, she had an opportunity to leave Navy OGC and transitioned over to the Government Accountability Office, GAO.

I had a 30-some year career in government contracting, was a GS5 at TACOM way back in the day, from there to NAVAIR, and then spent some time in industry and two or three civilian agencies and rose all the way up, ended up a senior executive, retired from DOD in 2012, and I was a chapter leader, Washington, D.C. president, and various capacities at the volunteer level.

Got my CPCM and then fooled them all, and I was on the national board and got this gig as executive director.

So NAVSEA is an acronym that stands for the Naval Sea Systems Command.

All the services have activities, each organized a little differently, but within the Navy, a systems command, because there's also the Naval Air Systems Command and a few others, is a large organization which is charged with a cradle to grave, doing the, from the research and development to develop a capability through acquiring the capability, through taking care of the capability through its life cycle, and then disposing it.

So the Naval Sea Systems Command does that for ships and submarines.

The DepSec War and the Undersecretary for War for Acquisition, early on in the Trump II administration, really has already done some sweeping reforms, not just for the Navy, but how all the Department of War acquisition operates.
