All I wanted to do was give a cow a haircut.

That's really what I wanted to do, and so that's what I went after, and it's a form of art, I'd say, hair art, say what you want, but anyway but I'm just saying like yeah I took that and and I didn't know where I was going with it it just kept going me you know going from one show to the next and I mean just different opportunities and I'd never really had anything substantial you know I'd always wanted to go I'd heard like National Western and stuff like that but I'd you know I'd never been out of state or anything like that well then I got a call from a guy out there and and he wanted me to come out there and clip five bulls.

I was a freshman in college, and I was just elated that I was going to get the chance to go to the National Western, and I'd never flown before, and I still didn't get to fly because he bought me a train ticket, and I rode the train from Osceola, Iowa to Fort Morgan, Colorado.
