This means there were roughly 153 contactless or tap-to-pay transactions per person in Ireland for the same period.

Irish consumers have adopted tap-to-pay or contactless payments and the National Transport Authority is planning to roll out this feature across all of public transport starting from the end of 2028.

So it's likely this will see a further increase in the volumes.

And we're estimating this could potentially be 25 million additional tap-to-pay transactions in the first year.

Paddy Wagon, which many people will be very familiar with, was fined €3,000 and then told to pay another €2,700 at Ennis District Court on Monday after it pleaded guilty to charges connected with ferrying people to and from the cliffs without a licence issued by the National Transport Authority.

I've been pushing the National Transport Authority for a, a regional breakdown.

Now, the chairman of the, uh, Irish Parking Association, who's a lobby group for the clamping companies, has told me that the NTA should have a regional breakdown, so hopefully we'll have them soon.

But again, you mentioned the pays there i- in the opening, like, 54% of APCOA cases this year so far, Neil, have resulted in a motorist being refunded.

So if you're clamped by AC- APCOA, you can appeal to the company.

If that's rejected by APCOA, then y- you then go to the National Transport Authority.

Well, firstly, as we highlighted this morning, the clamping industry here is booming.

Figures from the National Transport Authority show almost 143,000 vehicles were clamped last year, an increase of 18% in just two years.

Two of the biggest operators are Avcoa, which clamps vehicles in private car parks and housing developments around the country.

and Dublin Street Parking Services, which carries out clamping on behalf of Dublin City Council.
