National recreation area

Listen up, because it's going to be quick.

Allegedly, rumor has it, that they would also go to perform rituals in an abandoned building in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, a roughly 171,000-acre national recreation area tucked between two dams and reservoirs that straddle Kentucky and Tennessee.

This truly should be a freebie, but I have one planned for December, so I'm not counting this one.

You can find TikTok's reels and blog posts about this building that's abandoned in the National Recreation Area that more recently, due to this particular story and its haunted reputation, has been dubbed the Vampire Hotel.

The crumbling remains of this building are spray painted with graffiti all over the place, and it's definitely like... an abandoned hangout spot for locals.

But it actually began as a private retirement home built by this guy, Captain Grover Marler.

He was a riverboat captain before the area was developed.
