National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled

You know that we in the National Federation of the Blind have been a fierce advocate for America's library for the blind.

I would say it's the best library for the blind in the world because of our work.

And We've invited the director of the National Library Service here with us to be at this convention.

He's been with us a number of times.

I was quick to reassure him that I do not expect him to learn Braille, even though I know of people older than he is that have learned the basics.

I broached the idea of audiobooks from the National Library Service, but he is not ready to face that either.

He still reads with his Nook device.

He says it is a tablet that he uses, not his iPhone.

So all this to say, or ask, How can I convince him that he needs to consider alternatives? That perhaps he should let her drive, or they may need to settle down somewhere, and consider signing up for services he could be entitled to? I do not want to push him, but I am the oldest, and I guess I feel kind of responsible, even though I know that is ridiculous.

I can't really take responsibility for his actions, but it scares me.

What other things should I be thinking of for him to look into, aside from the National Library Service? I already know he's not ready to even consider assistance from vocational rehabilitation.
