And what does that mean? That means I am a forensic technician.

My specific field that I focus on is NIBIN.

NIBIN? Yes.

And how do you spell that? N-I-B-I-N.

And what does that stand for? That stands for the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network.

And what kind of specialized training have you completed in forensic science? I have two certifications, both from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, better known as ATF.

One is in triage and acquisition, and the other is in correlation for an item.

So those are all specific to NIBIN? Yes, they are.

Grooves and indentations on the casing told ballistic experts to make a model of the gun that fired the shell, the previously mentioned 380 AMT backup semi-automatic pistol.

The AOT's database, known as NIBIN, which stands for the National Integrated Ballistics Information Network, uses software to analyze the microscopic indentations made on spent shell casings by the guns that fired them.

These indentations are then compared to other casings in the database

to see if ballistic evidence with the same markings was found in any other crimes.

and they still had a focus on Isaiah, the driver of the gray Nissan.

But five days later, February 23rd, 2022, a NIBIN alert comes across detectives' desks.

Now, this is the system that detects matches in shell casings.

And the two shell casings recovered from the ADW shooting outside of the New Bay Motel matched the two found in Joshua Giles' murder.
