I'm Jess Yamaguchi and I'm here attending the AES in 2026 on behalf of the National Indigenous Australians Agency but also wearing a couple of hats so also part of the Gili Bunga Black Think Tank 2.0. I'm one of the key members there and have previously worked with Coal Collaboration and shared some insights on a report on a panel yesterday with Gili Bunga.

Some key takeaways, I've really enjoyed actually Matt's presentation on the scaling and I think thinking more about just not scaling across and scaling out but also scaling in was a new insight and way to think about it for me and I feel like it's great to see examples of practical tools that our mob can take away and unpack and adapt and use into practice.

So I think that this is something that I'll be taking away from the conference and building on going forward.

The Clean Energy Regulator has added 116 workers.

The National Indigenous Australians Agency, that's grown by 220 employees.

Treasury got an extra 291.

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, that's ballooned by 1,306 new staffers.
