Well-being is definitely in some way closely linked to attendance.

So, you know, NFER research found that schools investing substantial resources into attendance... still ended up with persistent absence being relatively high.

And that's because often the well-being, a very broad term and a difficult one to pin down, was relatively unaffected.

So you can't just fix attendance by fixing systems.

Cillie Howes and Nick Howes are with me for this special around skills that employers say they're looking for.

from amongst others the ability to communicate effectively collaborate and problem solve the National Foundation for Educational Research has identified a bunch of transferable skills six in total that will count as much as qualifications they say in getting and keeping a job in the next 10 years so this is big news and really crucial stuff to keep top of mind so let's get into the detail with Celia and Nick The head of the list, if you like, not the most important necessarily, but organise, plan and prioritise.

Now, said it before to you both on separate occasions, you will, of course, during the life of LMI UK with workshops, with going into businesses and around young people as well, you will have seen lots of examples, I dare say, of those who probably didn't rate themselves as being particularly organised, maybe quite disorganised.

Turning that around, how do you do that? How do you even start with that?

Next up, if you think employers are only looking for technical skills, think again.

A five-year study by the National Foundation for Educational Research found that some of the most valuable workplace skills are actually the ones that aren't tied to a specific degree.

We're talking about communication, teamwork, creative thinking and problem solving.

These are the skills that help people adapt, collaborate and deal with change.

Collectively, that evidence base is being built and that research corpus is being built, but it's still relatively immature and we're seeing different outcomes.

But that NFER EEF study will report relatively soon, probably in the autumn coming.

And the key aims of that really were to understand the impact of using ILA.
