National Fire Academy

So Josh, my good friend and a phenomenal chief, past IAFC president, And really, Josh was just willing to take a chance.

This is a great segue for anybody that has thought about going to the National Fire Academy or getting in the Managing Officer program or the EFO program.

Do it.

Because every job opportunity I have had has come from an NFA relationship.

You know, I never thought that AI was kind of going to be my path.

And still to this day, you know, training's in my heart You and I met quite a while ago when I was an instructor at Palm Beach State College, and you helped bring me into the National Fire Academy.

And over that time, I worked through the different ranks, and I came into administration.

And you get the assignment to be the chief of IT, and you have to start learning fast.

Um, I spent a couple years as the fire chief for a nearby village, Village of Harrison.

Um, I was fortunate enough to go through an early version of the managing officer program out at the National Fire Academy, which just gave me a wealth of knowledge, and I appreciate, uh, that experience.

Um, and, uh, and finally, I, I, I get to do some, a little consulting on the side, so I help other, uh, other departments, especially going through this, this time of, of, uh, financial struggle.

A lot of neighboring, uh, Wisconsin, like, volunteer departments that are just trying to figure out how to keep trucks in the station, how to keep volunteers showing up.

Uh, Hasemeyer possesses a Doctor, uh, of Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University, and a Master in Public Administration from Capella University, and a Bachelor of Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.

He is a graduate of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer program, and additionally, Hasemeyer is trained as a firefighter, paramedic, instructor, fire inspector, and in all of the NFPA 1670's technical rescue disciplines.

In addition to his current duties and responsibilities as a public safety director and a fire chief in Hernando County, Hasemeyer is a lead faculty member at Columbia Southern University, where he teaches online courses in their fire administration program.

Hasemeyer is an adjunct instructor for Bowling Green State University and teaches at their annual state fire school.

Right

... you know, at the National Fire Academy.

So it's amazing those intangibles that, that, you know, it's hard to put your finger on it, but when it happens, you know, and, and it's so-

So yeah, the National Fire Academy is an arm of the US Fire Administration.

Their campus is in Emmitsburg, Maryland, which coincidentally is right next to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
