National Fenestration Rating Council

A U value of one is not good.

So each Climate Zone has its own U-value, and this is prescribed on the window by a company, I think I'm gonna get this right, NFRC, the National Fenestration something.

NFRC, I should look it up, but you guys, it doesn't matter.

It totally doesn't matter.

But now you know there's an organization that spends its whole day, all day long, every day, making sure that the doors and windows in your home are labeled with these U-values so that the code office can quickly look at your windows and say, does it meet U-value, and pass or fail you in an instant.

So this is a better system overall.

And what I learned is that I went with Marvin because the STC ratings on their lab tested windows are better.

We're running into a technical difficulty right now where the best STC rating, of course, is not NFRC rated, meaning it doesn't have the U value stamped on it, which defeats the whole purpose.
