There is an issue for sure with the legal system, and there was a report by Komnas Perempuan, which is the Commission for Violence against Women and Children, just a few months ago that was saying that this issue of sexual abuse in Islamic boarding school, pesantrens, where millions of children go to school, many have a very happy time there.

But they're saying that this issue of sexual abuse in the schools has reached an emergency level right now because of the unchecked power o- of the men that are running these schools and is calling for the government to put in place safeguarding, reporting mechanisms because it-- all the cases that we were looking at, the students did raise red flags.

They went to teachers, or they tried to go to the police, and each time they were intimidated a- and not helped.
