And I found this quote actually from Glenn Branch, who's the deputy director of the National Center for Science Education, who deals with education primarily in our universities and our public schools.

And he made the comment that I had just noticed by my own experience was, was that religious folks don't get too bent out of shape about the Galapagos adventures of Darwin.

We can talk about the beaks on the finches or the shapes of the tortoise shells on the island.

I've been fortunate enough, Mick, I have met the Minister for Special and Inclusive Education and I've advocated and I've followed up with numerous emails and letters.

I have spoken to the Chief Executive Officer of the National Council for Special Education, John Carney in the NCSE.

I've written to the Minister for Education herself.

And I've been in contact with three of our local TDs here in West Cork, Holly Cairns, Christopher Sullivan and Michael Collins.

Anywho, in the show coming up, we're going to talk to Jeannie Scott, Eugenie Scott.

She is the former executive director for the National Center for Science Education.

She's been on the show before.

It's been a while, but we used to talk about... battling evolution and creationism.

Of course, I have with me now Eugenie Scott, who is the former, a.k.a. retired, Executive Director for the National Center for Science Education, an all-around brilliant person.

And we haven't talked for years, and before we talked about creationism and global warming and... how she and many others would fight those things.

Um, and something really interesting was like removing polluting in front of coal burning power plants.

I spoke with Glenn Branch of the National Center for Science Education, and he said it's really weird for Florida to do this because technically in its science standards currently from 2008, they're supposed to talk about climate change in high school.

However, Florida did receive a D for how it executes that.

The only way it can do worse is to get an F, which, uh, Texas managed.

And the worst is not that, is that the government seems completely shocked because they started to create a task force But the task force is just bypassing the national agencies.

The equivalent of England is like NCSE.

In France, we have the ANSI.

So they completely try to recreate the wheel.
