National Book Award for Young People's Literature

And we're here with Sabaa Tahir, the author of the number one New York Times bestselling An Ember in the Ashes series, which has been named one of Time's 100 best young adult books of all time.

Her contemporary novel All My Rage won the National Book Award for Young People's Literature in 2022.

And we're here to chat about Sabah's latest novel, Empire, the final installment in the air duology.

Welcome to the show, Sabah.

The children's book, A Boy Called Bat, and its sequels were selected as a global read-alouds.

And her latest book, which I can't wait to read, is called Holloway and is on the long list for the 2026 National Book Award in Young People's Literature.

That's so fantastic.

Also, just as a side note, we did encounter some mysterious sound glitches while we were recording.
