Women in construction.

I'm wearing a women in construction t-shirt right now because of my participation in NAWIC.

So working with BCSP helped me to expand my reach as a professional.

I'm with forums like NAWIC, ASSP, NSC.

I use these platforms to speak for outreach, for recruitment, to grow the industry.

And back, let's say, 10 years ago, I would have never, ever imagined myself doing the things that I do now.

it's just that it's a unique experience to have women in nontraditional employment spaces.

So when we band together, it feels great when you return back to the workforce or just rejuvenate it.

Our administration, all of our pathway leads at EPIC thought that this was such an important skill set for our students to have that we agreed it's worth 40% of a student's grade.

And like you said, Dee, when you came in with NAWIC for Block Kids, the students were professional.

They don't act like high school students, at least not in the setting when they're at EPIC or representing EPIC at events.

Beth's got a great story when we took students our first year to a career fair where there were about 400 high school students.

I'd like to add on with the networking.

Not only are industry partners, companies, but they're also association.

One of the best ones, NAWIC.

So that's how we connected.

I got to meet these folks when we were on campus.

They hosted for us at NAWIC, the annual Block Kids event that we do every year.

And we hosted on an epic campus this year.

And that was when I got to meet these two fine people and learn all about their programs.

did I know when I got older.

Well, you know, the whole thing about women in construction, like you're in the National Association of Women in Construction, correct? You're in there, right? Yes.

When I started my magazine, construction was probably 65, 35, maybe, maybe 70, 30, depending on what part of the country you're in.

And then little by little, as I published it, a lady came up to me and said, hey, why don't you...

Yeah, sure.

So NARWIC, we are the National Association of Women in Construction.

We're a 31-year-old industry membership body with boots on the ground in every state and territory, along with federal presence.

So we support women and organisations.
