Nate Hendley

Last year, she and James were both honored for their advocacy at a gala event hosted by Innocence Canada.

In a recent interview with Toronto true crime author Nate Hendley, Marie said she was realistic about the slim chance of getting her brother's conviction overturned, but she's pleased that his story hasn't been forgotten.

Quote, "When this case keeps coming up year after year, it tells you that there was a terrible injustice done, and it's time we correct it." [haunting music] Thanks for listening.

This episode was adapted for audio from a script researched and written by Nate Hendley, pieced together primarily from court documents, interviews with Marie, James, and lawyer Catherine M. Campbell, as well as the news archives.
