... and who were traveling from community to community and interviewing and conducting in-depth interviews with the survivors of the residential schools and other Indigenous peoples who have been willing to share their stories of living in Canada.

Of course, uh, most focus, as we know, as we remember, was placed on that restoring truth about the legacy of residential schools in Canada.

So that was a very important project to me as a community-engaged scholar, as someone who's been already building bridges with indigenous colleagues already in the University of Saskatchewan.

I'm not sure you know or not, but I'm, I'm the founding editor of the Community Engaged Scholar Journal, and, uh, we've worked with very established academics, intellectuals in the indigenous studies field on producing a couple of collaborative issues focusing on indigenous knowledge systems and indigenous engagement.

So that was absolutely phenomenally important period in my life before I've come to the University of Alberta, working with elders in Dene community.

I was also the person who worked hard in bringing the Dene culture c- and language course to the campus of the University of Saskatchewan, so I worked with the elder to make sure this course is happening.
