yeah well yeah no it's it's a it's a massive film um yeah and it looks yeah and so then it's great

Yeah, thank you.

That is true.

I believe it does look like a high production value film.

And I think most of the people who knew me when I was training for TV Episodic and at Warner Brothers, when they watched the film, they were expecting a quiet drama, which is what sane people tend to start with.

But no, not me.

And to be fair, this film was based more on the book at the beginning.

So how did this project start? become your feature debut I guess you've mentioned it's based on a book the source material did you come to this as a fan of the book and something that you wanted to work or was this a case of just welcome coincidences of things kind of doors opening at the right time

So what happened was I was in New Zealand and I had realized that I wanted to do more than just act.

I wanted to write and direct as well.

And I made my first short film called The Silk, which was by Dame Joy Cowley, the same author.

And it was extremely successful.

It was extremely difficult.

and it made me realize that it's really humbling to become a filmmaker, which is what I wanted as an actor.

I love that phrase.
