directly next to the figure of Vajradhara.

Tilopa, the one who had the vision, taught Naropa, his disciple, who taught the first Tibetan visitor to their area, Marpa, the translator, who translated Mahamudra into Tibetan for his disciple, Milarepa, who taught his Tibetan disciple, Gampopa, who taught his Tibetan disciple, Dusumkempo.

And then for 17 generations, 17 spiritual generations, this teaching has been handed down in an unbroken line, which gives it a great deal of power.

So even just seeing the statues is inspiring because you know they were real people.

I, I had contact with all the lineages of Tibetan Buddhism and have teachers from all of them, but the primary is, um, Kagyu and, and Shangpa lineages.

And in those, Mahamudra is taught and practiced, and from the Kagyu comes down from, uh, Tilopa, Naropa, Marpa, Milarepa, uh, Gampopa to the current-

Uh, these are great masters, these are great masters from, uh, India actually at first, and then, uh, and then early Tibet, huh?

There's a beautiful, there's a beautiful, uh, uh, verse from, uh, a Tilopa song to Naropa that I just love.

"Gazing with sheer awareness into sheer awareness, habitual abstract structures melt into the fruitful spring- springtime of Buddhahood."
