but you could maybe explain how you think about The Primal Wound and how this fits or doesn't fit within the concept that you're sort of, uh, offering.

Yeah.

So, um, The, The Primal Wound was, as you say, written by Nancy Verrier, um, and published in 1993.

So Nancy has or had, I'm not sure, I'm, I'm pretty sure she's still alive, um, she has two daughters, a biological daughter and, uh, an adopted daughter, and she was trying to understand the difference between how those two daughters of her were in the world, and she couldn't find anything that really explained the, the behavior of, uh, of her adopted daughter.

Yeah.

Being an adoptee, and there's a woman named Nancy Verrier who wrote a book that really, I think, changed the way a lot of people thought about adoption.

It was called The Primal Wound.

And her theory is that that separation from the birth mother is experienced as trauma, and then that trauma sort of informs your development as a young child.

Yes, it's such a big sense of loss.

And this is something that Nancy Verrier speaks about in her book, The Primal Wounded.

And she talks about this being such a deep seated loss that almost goes to like a cellular level where sometimes people are not even aware of it.

But as time goes on, they notice that there could just be this unresolved grief that they have.
