Nancy Spungen

Mark Twain said, "Wow, it sure is a long time ago."

Uh, Dylan Thomas died there in his room, and Sid Vicious killed his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, in his.

Allegedly.

Well, that's a topic for another conversation.

"I think for many writers, the work has a prophetic quality.

I don't mean in a cosmic or religious sense, but just in terms of one's own life."

Just in the sense that he wanted to leave his girlfriend?

His girl- I-- Basically, yes, and I, [laughs] I think he was, he was forcing himself to realize that by turning it into a song.

And, and, and, and I, I knew Harley, like we weren't best pals or whatever, but we were acquaintances.

He probably wouldn't remember me, but I mean, you, you actually captured, I think what I think is the most punk rock moment I have ever seen when he pulls out Nancy Spungen's murder room key.

I almost, I had to rewind that to make sure that I didn't hallucinate that whole thing.

Anyway, so props to you.

Agnes Skinner is Amy Winehouse.

Reverend Lovejoy and Helen are Sid and Nancy Vicious, or Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, is that her last name? Yeah, Spungen, I think.

Spungen, okay.

Waylon Smithers, Grizzly Sean, and Dewey Largo are the three maids from the Maquido.

The first kid under their lens was her boyfriend, Matt Esposito.

This hit vicious to her Nancy Spungen.

Now, if you're going by the data, at least, it's the boyfriend that's often the killer.

Matt and Robin had an intense teen romance.

It reached number one in the UK and became one of the foundational albums of punk rock.

During their chaotic first US tour, Johnny Rotten ended the band's final show at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom in January of 1978 with the famous question, ever get the feeling you've been cheated? Later that same year, Sid Vicious was arrested for the stabbing death of his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, who died of a heroin overdose in February of 1979 at the age of 21, but before the case ever went to trial.

Rotten, Jones, Cook, and Madlock reunited in 1996 for a world tour, which was followed by occasional reunions and performances over subsequent years.

In 2006, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and characteristically refused to attend.

In 1978, Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious was arrested in New York City and charged with second-degree murder.

The arrest came after his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, was discovered dead from a single stab wound on their bathroom floor at the Hotel Chelsea in Midtown Manhattan.

In 1980, a violent fight broke out among audience members during a Blood, Sweat & Tears performance at the Los Angeles Street Scene Festival.

The confrontation resulted in seven spectators being stabbed by a fellow concertgoer before order was restored.
