Nalo Hopkinson

So I read, as you can imagine, I read a lot.

I think right now the author that really resonates with me because of the sort of work I'm doing now is an author called, her name is Nalo Hopkinson and she writes a lot of folklore, a lot of supernatural, a lot of fantasy or magical realistic type works.

She has many, many, many, many books.

She has a short story collection called Skinfolk which sort of gave me, it encouraged me to put out my collection, but I really do enjoy pretty much everything she's written.

And I'm happy to praise one and damn the other and not let her down.

dismiss what I or William Gibson or Spider Robinson or Nalo Hopkinson or Kelly Robson or Julie Trenada or endless numbers of great Canadian science fiction writers have done because it gave her a funny one-off, a one-liner to drop into interviews.

Screw that.

This is a decent, important literary genre that's produced works that in many, many cases are better than Margaret's own attempts at that same literature.
