Also addressing summit attendees was European Union Director for International Partnerships, Erika Gerristen, who said the EU... has committed 20 billion euros to support Africa's green energy transition between 2021 and 2027, with more than 100 clean energy projects already underway.

The chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Foundation and former South African Minister of International Relations, Naledi Pandor, says that despite the greatness women have shown, they continue to be victims of inequality and discrimination.

Pandor was speaking at the 10th Standard Bank Top Women Conference.

Alongside all these positive achievements which we share in South Africa and many, many countries throughout the continent, women continue to bear the brunt of poverty, of violence, and of unequal pay, and some of sexual harassment in the workplace.

Like both of us, we're not comrades, you know what I mean? He was actually headhunted and put into this thing here with his association, Palestine.

And, you know, I think Naledi Pandor was there and she brought him in.

A similar issue around diversity and inclusion Is brewing here in South Africa.

In fact, it's a conversation that was sparked off for some, by some comments that were made by the former Minister of Depart- of the Department of International Relations and Corporations, Naledi Pandor, around the issue of, uh, the new and upcoming, uh, private Afrikaans University Academia.

Uh, and she has had some misgivings around the very emergence of this u- university.

Um, it appears that, uh, such issues will be part of the conversation that will ensue at the summit.
