Halle Berry's daughter, Nahla Aubry, has defended her after the star's ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, claimed in filings that Berry had been, uh, you know, physical towards their 13-year-old son, Maceo.

Nala Aubrey, who is Halle Berry's 18-year-old daughter from her previous relationship with Gabriel Aubrey, stepped directly into the legal fray.

Which, just from a legal standpoint, is astonishingly rare.

You almost never see an older sibling from a totally different relationship voluntarily inserting a sworn legal declaration into a custody dispute like this.

Berry has vehemently denied the accusation, saying that she is a victim of domestic violence herself.

And in response to Martinez's accusations, Nahla, the 18-year-old daughter of Halle Berry, denied those claims.

She said, "I never observed anything abusive about her parenting." She described her mom as a loving and devoted parent who is warm, supportive, and deeply involved.

She said, "I have never seen my mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way." Uh, she said she's never seen her mom place her hands around Maceo's neck, put him in a chokehold, or restrict his breathing.

Honestly, I thought that they were already divorced.

I know that they had been separated for a while, Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf, but it sounds like she hadn't pulled the trigger on filing for divorce.

She is asking for primary legal and physical custody of their four-year-old daughter, Isabel.

She also asked that neither she nor Shia receive spousal support.

As we talked about, Martinez previously said he wants Berry to undergo substance testing before, during, and after visits with their son because she has a problem with alcohol.

Berry's daughter, Nahla Aubry, from one of her other exes, Gabriel Aubry, stuck up for her mom and said that Halle isn't a bad parent at all.

In a declaration to Los Angeles Superior Court, 18-year-old Nahla said, quote, "I have never seen my mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way.

I have never seen my mom place her hands around Maceo's neck, put him in a chokehold, restrict his breathing, or engage in any conduct remotely resembling the allegations that have been made against her." End quote.
