Nadine Labaki

Whether, whether it's, I'm just trying to think, like, whether it's filmmakers.

Like I, just the other day, I was like, I looked at Nadine Labaki, the director.

Yeah.

And the movies she has directed, first of all, they're amazing.

Uh, but there's, I wanna look at La Bola Negra's win here because it is also exceptional.

It's the first non-English language film to win here in 15 years, and ironically, in the context [laughs] of this conversation, the last one to win was the Nadine Labaki film, Where Do We Go Now?, which obviously made no, uh, dent in the Oscars whatsoever, and for the longest time has always been the outlier in this conversation.

But obviously La Bola Negra's a very different film and a different situation.

Cannes director winners.
