Don't look for approval from your mother or father.

In my case, I was looking to the best people, Graham Greene, V.S. Naipaul, Nadine Gordimer, people that I respected, people whose books I read.

And when they said with approval that I was doing the right thing, I felt reassured.

When I sent my first book to my mother, she said, "I think you should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm obsessed with short novels.

But, you know, it's somebody who I think is a better writer, Nadine Gordimer.

I would 100% agree with

that.

It looked almost straight down into craters that, despite being closer to the Sun than any other planet, have never seen sunlight.

So as they wait, they're, they come together in solidarity entirely antithetically to the mores and norms of the space and place that they find themselves in.
