NAB Marconi Radio Awards

We have a couple of most excellent affiliates in these parts, KICK-FM, up for a Marconi Award for best small market station, and KWAD, or KWAD, in Wadena, Minnesota.

A lot of lakes and huge walleyes in these parts, and a lot of Minnesota nice people to brighten your day with a, "How the heck you doin' den? Really good, den."

Yeah.

There's, there's two stones left for me to get.

One of them is a Marconi Award, and that would be a station-wide award, and we're nominated for it.

That would be amazing.

Like, as, as a radio person, there's...

Matter of fact, NABJ might give you the thumbs down.

But you know what I'ma get? A thumbs up for the Marconi Award.

And his name is Guglielmo Marconi.

Now, if you've ever heard the name Marconi or the Marconi Awards, this is the same guy.

Marconi basically invented the long-distance radio, and he won a Nobel Prize in physics in 1909, and he's genuinely an Italian national hero and the exact kind of person that you would want to hand a mysterious piece of hardware to that no

one can identify.

We love Dan.

And, uh, he's a Marconi Award winner for a reason, and he's gonna be here.

Again, we think the company has something on him, that's why he's forced to do the show while we're gone, but, uh, we're honored [laughs] to have him here nonetheless.
